How many of you make a promisingly big new year’s resolutions list and then get cross with themselves in about a month for not sticking to it? Two of my favourite bloggers – Olivia Purvis and Emma Gannon – decided to ditch the get-better promises and instead, made long lists of what they have achieved during this past year. I can’t agree with them more, because even though resolutions about working out and being healthy (which I will definitely make) are nice and all, they’re also often pretty disappointing. Especially when you’re in your PJs, half-lying on your couch and see all those people on Instagram actually working out. (Although one of my resolutions for this year was to eat more quality chocolate and cut back on random sweets and I’m proud to say that I pretty much achieved this.)
So instead of making pointless lists of unrealistic resolutions, let’s give ourselves a proper pat on the back and think back on all the awesome, amazing or simply just nice things we’ve achieved in 2015. I’m pretty sure that this is a lot more motivating (or at least just as motivating) to keep going in the new year and strive to make next year’s list a bit longer. If you don’t give yourself credit, who else will?
So without further ado, here’s a list of exciting, nice, making-my-heart-beat-faster stuff that I’ve done in 2015. If any of you decide to look back on their year and put together an anti-bucket-list, do comment down below, I’d love to hear about your achievements! Until then, have a magical end to this year and a marvellous new year!
Erasmus
My top one experience, leap of faith, accomplishment and memory – going abroad on exchange to the Netherlands and actually surviving. Since my semester isn’t over yet, I’ll look back to it on the blog in February, give you all kinds of tips and share everything!
Travel
This year I spent at least a few days every month abroad. Crazy, right?! First it was Barcelona, then Latvia and Finland, then Brussels, London, the Netherlands of course and how could I not mention Paris! If next year is anything like that, I’m happy.
A Few Days Away
For my birthday, my boyfriend and I went to Helsinki for a concert (which was eventually cancelled), spent a night in a very well designed hotel room and explored prettier looking areas of Helsinki. No party, no preparations – and I have a feeling that I might make this kind of disappearing act into a habit in the future too.
Fangirl Moments
The concert that was cancelled eventually made its way to me in Utrecht, where half a year later, I got to see Satellite Stories, a band consisting of four blond Finnish guys. After the gig I also got to share a few words with them, which was even more than awesome! This year’s gigs also included Skrillex, Katy Perry and Chvrches, which weren’t half bad either.
Visiting Estonia
Roosi The Cat
In April, my parents took a cat! She’s a young catgirl called Roosi, who is really cute, just the right amount of mischevious and smells really nice. And I turned into a catlover, whether I wanted it or not. I’m addicted to the purring and don’t even mind that my hands look like I can’t handle a knife or have been running around in a rose bush.
Journo Life
I’ve been to Positivus festival before and loved it from a simple visitor’s perspective, but this year I got the chance to visit as a journalist and hang around at the media tent, which was way cooler. I also continued my internship at a national paper and wrote a few stories which the editors really liked and I was also a bit proud of.
Radio Journo Life
I also did a two-week internship at a national radio station, which was both exciting and terrifying. I realised that I really like live-radio and radio in general, but I also realised that I need to get over my shyness.
Blogger’s Flea Market
I couldn’t not mention another hugely successful blogger’s flea market, which started with a queue behind the door and had the biggest number of supercool blogger girls participating ever. I am actually really proud of being behind an awesome event like that and you can be sure that the queues and cool girls will come again.
Art History Nerd
All the travelling has also provided me with a chance to meet the biggest art classics ever. I’ve seen a Picasso, Matisse, Miro, Dali, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Turner and lots more, which is probably one of the best things that an art history minor could ask for.
First Ever Vlog
I’m slightly surprised that I pulled myself together and gathered some kind of courage to turn the camera to me and document my everyday life and travel in video form. Vlogging is a fast-paced bandwagon to hop on and I’m most certain that I won’t become a daily vlogger, but talking to the camera and you every once in a while and then editing it is quite a nice change. Maybe next year will bring my first English-speaking vlog?

Selliseid postitusi on alati huvitav lugeda :)

Thumbs up! Kirbukas on küll tõsiselt lahe ettevõtmine sul :) !

Hea lugemine, you did good! Kirbukat jään ka ootama ;)
